The Lone Star Pet Lodges concept was founded by Walter and Lara Darr.  What started as a dream to create a more service oriented pet boarding and grooming organization housed in a state-of-the-art, pet friendly facility has culminated into the business that is today - Lone Star Pet Lodges.

Walter and Lara are currently the Principal Members of an independent consulting firm with a successful record of service in the areas of:

• Human Resource Planning, Allocation and Scheduling          
• Organizational Effectiveness Analysis and Improvement
• Operational Analysis and Improvement
• Labor and Employee Relations Strategy Development and Implementation
• Corporate Restructuring, Organizational Development and Turnaround Management

Walter and Lara have an unwavering commitment to excellence in customer service and employee relations.  Capitalizing on the concepts that they have developed and implemented for both domestic and international organizations that operate in the service delivery environment on a 24 hour basis, 365 days per year; Walter and Lara bring this same commitment to excellence to the Lone Star Pet Lodges brand.    

Walter is a graduate of the University of Phoenix, holding a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration.  He currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Missouri City Business Alliance and has been active in the United Kennel Club since 1993, and has extensive experience training Labrador Retrievers for general obedience as well as for the competitive hunt test circuit.

Lara is a graduate Texas State University, holding a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Criminal Justice and also holds a Juris Doctorate degree from South Texas College of Law. 

Life-long pet owners and enthusiasts themselves, Walter and Lara and their daughter Maggie reside in Missouri City, Texas along with their two Labrador Retrievers – Mojo and Buddy.
